Area 20 February Monthly Update

In an effort to streamline this update, I will try to keep it as brief as possible. As we enter a month where we are inundated with hearts, candy & flowers – kudos to you if you are able to avoid them all – I wanted to remind each of you that you are loved and you are not alone. Please don’t do MOPS alone. Work with your church, your Team, and yes, even your Coach to achieve your MOPS goals. Remember that your MOPS Coach is here for you! Our Area 20 MOPS Volunteer Staff (MVS) has gone through some changes in the past couple of months and we are in the midst of building MOPS group Communities that can also encourage and support one another. Watch your email for updates as some groups’ local Coaches may change.

Area 20 continues to grow with MOPS groups in all four states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana & Mississippi. 

As we grow groups, we also grow our need for Coaches.

Have you been called to join our Team?

Your Coaches pray daily for our MOPS groups & you, our Leaders. We also pray that those who are called to join us will answer that call. If the seed has been planted in you and you would like to know more about what being a Coach means, please ask a Coach today. 

Community Leadership Training (CLT) Events

We are excited to share with you that we have already started planning our MOPS Community Leadership Training (CLT) Events.

MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

In an effort to equip you as leaders, we offer local training events from MOPS International. This day allows your MOPS Leadership Team to come together, relax, learn, grow, and connect with other Leaders. The CLT is really a Leadership Team’s MOPS Meeting led by Coaches. It is a time that can not be replaced by emails, texts or Facebook posts.

As your Area 20 Coaches plan events in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana & Mississippi, we will keep the local Community MOPS Leaders updated on the details. Most CLT Events are planned on a Saturday and usually are from 10 am – 3 pm. 

MOPS International Announcements

Our Leadership Experience team is in the process of finalizing next year’s mom and leader resources and we’re excited to share everything with you! Before our content will be put into production, key components of the theme and curriculum, including the exegesis, mom workbook and videos, will be previewed by a content advisory panel. Our content advisory panel has been pulled together by MOPS COO, TJ Rikli, and consists of MOPS Staff, leaders, mentors, pastors and a board member. All feedback from this panel will be taken into consideration before production begins.
Once our content is finalized and put into production, we have some great ways we will be unpacking our theme and sharing resources with our leaders, including the following:

- A live theme reveal/unpacking event in Denver on April 1st will be live streamed to all leaders/church staff who are interested in hearing about the theme and MOPS vision from Mandy and another well-known and respected speaker. Details to follow.

- An issue of Connections magazine will arrive in leaders’ mailboxes on or around April 1st as well. The entire issue is dedicated to our theme and evangelism perspective. You’ll get an in-depth look at the theme and this year’s resources will be highlighted throughout the magazine.
- We are hoping (not finalized yet) to create a trailer video for the mom curriculum to give a taste of the content we will be offering this year. We will at least have one video available for you to watch without renewing (we did this last year also). For obvious reasons, we cannot do that for more than one video.
- The best way for our leaders to preview the actual resources will be through your coach, so if you'd like to put your hands on a kit before you renew, reach out to your coach for help.

Pray for our Area 20 MOPS Leaders and the moms in their groups.

Pray for our Area 20 MVS Team as we strive to encourage and equip the leaders in our communities, continue to welcome our new Coaches, and hope that more MOPS Leaders will answer God’s call to be a part of our team.
