Area 20 March Monthly Update

Spring came early this year and with that we found ourselves struggling with sinus problems mixed in with the flu. What happened to winter? How is it that we are “springing ahead” this Saturday night? Why do I feel like I am always trying to catch up with myself? 

How was your “winter”? How did your MOPS group and your Leadership Team fair through early spring and mix of illnesses being shared by all? Are you and your Leadership Team now preparing to end your MOPS year well? Are some leaders stepping down and new ones stepping up? Your Coaches are here for you to help you end your year well, transition your Team and your group, and encourage you to continue to grow as a woman, mom and leader. 

Meanwhile, we are working on our local Community Leadership Training Events. Check for details and locations in the newsletter. We hope to see you there – hugs free!

Please note that our Area continues to grow with new groups, so to prepare for the continual growth we are updating MOPS Communities and your Coach may change. Reach out to your Coach if you need to talk or work out an idea or concern. Any Coach would be happy to help you, but there is a specific Coach assigned to your Leadership Team.

Community Leadership Training (CLT) Events

There are a million moms waiting to hear what you have to share.

Join a mighty throng of women proclaiming the good news.

Purpose for Leaders and Coaches

At each local Community Leadership Training event, hosted by a MOPS Coach, leaders have the chance to share ideas, ask questions, and consider your own influence. Coaches use this event to provide easy-to-use unique content that are tailored to each Community.

 You are invited to join us on April 22^nd in Suwanee GA, April 29^th in Senoia, GA or on May 6^th in Madison, AL; Richmond Hill, GA or Covington, LA.

MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

In an effort to equip you as leaders, we offer local training events from MOPS International. This day allows your MOPS Leadership Team to come together, relax, learn, grow, and connect with other Leaders. The CLT is really a Leadership Team’s MOPS Meeting led by Coaches. It is a time that can not be replaced by emails, texts or Facebook posts.

Area 20 continues to grow with MOPS groups in all four states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana & Mississippi.

As we grow groups, we also grow our need for Coaches.

Your Coaches pray daily for our MOPS groups & you, our Leaders. We also pray that those who are called to join us will answer that call. If the seed has been planted in you and you would like to know more about what being a Coach means, please ask a Coach today. 

MOPS International Announcements

Our Leadership Experience team is in the process of finalizing next year’s mom and leader resources and we’re excited to share everything with you! Before our content will be put into production, key components of the theme and curriculum, including the exegesis, mom workbook and videos, will be previewed by a content advisory panel. Our content advisory panel has been pulled together by MOPS COO, TJ Rikli, and consists of MOPS Staff, leaders, mentors, pastors and a board member. All feedback from this panel will be taken into consideration before production begins.

Once our content is finalized and put into production, we have some great ways we will be unpacking our theme and sharing resources with our leaders, including the following:

- A live theme reveal/unpacking event in Denver on April 1st will be live streamed to all leaders/church staff who are interested in hearing about the theme and MOPS vision from Mandy and another well-known and respected speaker. Details to follow.

- An issue of Connections magazine will arrive in leaders’ mailboxes on or around April 1st as well. The entire issue is dedicated to our theme and evangelism perspective. You’ll get an in-depth look at the theme and this year’s resources will be highlighted throughout the magazine.

- We are hoping (not finalized yet) to create a trailer video for the mom curriculum to give a taste of the content we will be offering this year. We will at least have one video available for you to watch without renewing (we did this last year also). For obvious reasons, we cannot do that for more than one video.

- The best way for our leaders to preview the actual resources will be through your coach, so if you'd like to put your hands on a kit before you renew, reach out to your coach for help.

Prayers for Leadership Teams who are preparing for transitions within their positions, Teams navigating a change in their host church, Teams working to help MOPS International reach 1 million moms, and groups that have moms struggling with health and family issues.

Pray for our Area 20 MOPS Volunteer Team (MVT) as we strive to encourage and equip the leaders in our communities, continue to welcome our new Coaches, and hope that more MOPS Leaders will answer God’s call to be a part of our team.
