Area 20 Summer Monthly Update

Hi Ladies,

As we celebrated Memorial Day this past Monday, we honored the men and women who died for our freedom.  We remember them and reflect on their sacrifice.  They gave up so much for us…their very life…so that we could have freedom.  This reminds me of our Savior.  Jesus lived a perfect life, yet died a sinner’s death so that we could be free.  Free from the bondage of sin…free to live a life knowing that we are loved and cared for by a God that loves us so much that he gave his son to die for us.  We are truly free indeed.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor, he has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18-19

It is our challenge this year to share this freedom with ladies in our MOPS groups all over the world.  We are tasked to point them to Jesus and share the freedom that we know with them.  We are to show them the love of Jesus and how they too can be free indeed.   

I am excited about our theme this year.  I really think that the mamas that come to our groups will be excited, too.  Sometimes the daily tasks in our lives weight us down and cause us to forget that we are free.  Sometimes our lives are full of worry and fear.

Sometimes it is so easy to focus on the negatives that we can forget this is not all that we are while we are changing dirty diapers or dealing with a frustrating older child.  We are not just moms having bad moments, but beautiful children of God. God, I pray that as we point women to you they will feel the freedom that you give.  I pray that they will be free indeed.

Community Leadership Training (CLT) Event

There are a million moms waiting to hear what you have to share.

Join a mighty throng of women proclaiming the good news.

Purpose for Leaders and Coaches

MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church.

In an effort to equip you as leaders, we offer local training events from MOPS International. This day allows your MOPS Leadership Team to come together, relax, learn, grow, and connect with other Leaders. The CLT is really a Leadership Team’s MOPS Meeting led by Coaches. It is a time that can not be replaced by emails, texts or Facebook posts. 

We have a Proclaim CLT Event scheduled on Saturday, June 24^th 10am-3pm at  Auburn/Opelika MOPS - Trinity United Methodist - 800 2nd Ave Opelika, AL. You can register for the Event here: https://www.mops.org/evt/?eventId=1230

Area 20 continues to grow with MOPS groups in all four states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana & Mississippi.

As we grow groups, we also grow our need for Coaches.

Have you been called to join our Team?

Your Coaches pray daily for our MOPS groups & you, our Leaders. We also pray that those who are called to join us will answer that call. If the seed has been planted in you and you would like to know more about what being a Coach means, please ask a Coach today.

Pray for our Area 20 MOPS Leaders and the moms in their groups.

Prayers for Leadership Teams who are preparing for transitions within their positions, Teams navigating a change in their host church, Teams working to help MOPS International reach 1 million moms, and groups that have moms struggling with health and family issues.

Pray for our Area 20 MOPS Volunteer Team (MVT) as we strive to encourage and equip the leaders in our communities, continue to welcome our new Coaches, and hope that more MOPS Leaders will answer God’s call to be a part of our team.
