Hello Leaders!
By now most of our MOPS Groups have
kicked off for the year and we are all finally getting into that “back
to school” routine. For me the start of this MOPS year has been a lot
more hectic than other years. Last month, Christina shared with us about
not getting caught up in the numbers. I want to take just a minute to
remind us of that. I love everything she shared about that last month
and I am so thankful that she did. It came at such a perfect time! As we
start getting in full swing of our MOPS year I just want to remind you
of “Don’t get caught up in the numbers!” As Leaders, it’s
so easy! Let’s worry more about our sweet moms and truly be intentional
with them and less about our numbers! Let’s get excited about that new
mom who walks through our doors! You never know… she is the one mom that
God is sending to make more friends, to draw closer to Him, or just
simply a mom that needs exactly what MOPS is about. Remember that God will do anything for just one!
Don’t you just love this quote??? Last week as I was checking emails and I came across a sweet email from one of my MOPS sisters with this image. It was in perfect timing that I received one of the sweetest emails from one of my MOPS sisters. My last two weeks have been rough with me being sick and one of my kids being sick. I was never blessed with a “real” sister but it was a great reminder that I have been blessed with AMAZING sisters through the Sisterhood of MOPS! Through MOPS I have found some of my closet friends and friends that truly feel more like sisters.
Just recently I was able to travel to South Louisiana to be with one of our Area 20 MOPS groups who experienced flooding in their area. Sisters that took in my husband and me and allowed us to help them with whatever was needed. These ladies have become so precious to me. For almost a month I have watched our MOPS Sisterhood from around the United States come together to support our MOPS Sisters who have experienced recent tragic events. I’m so thankful for our MOPS family! I am thankful for each of you as Leaders and as Moms! You are investing in moms who truly need you to be that “sister” they never had! I challenge you to start truly building intentional relationships with your moms, leaders, and even you’re MOPS Coach!
Let your LIGHT shine and may it shine Bright!!

This will be online right here on the Area 20 MOPS Leaders Facebook page, so please make sure you have added all members of your Leadership Team to this group. We will be talking all things MOMcon! We'll go over the schedule, special things you don't want to miss, tips for leaders attending for the first time, and more. Oh, and did we mention...there will be prizes??!! Our Area 20 Meeting time is 10:15pm-11pm in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom C-D on Thursday night! Be sure to get lots of sleep before MOMcon and make plans to attend our Area 20 time during MOMcon. Like last year, we will have lots of prizes! We love this opportunity to connect with you all so make sure you stay tuned for more info!
We will be putting together an Area 20 MOMcon Scavenger Hunt and At-Home version for leaders not attending again this year. These Hunts will be posted on our Area 20 Facebook page & we will try to email them to as many registered Leadership Team members in our Area.

Area 20 Speakers
Just a reminder we would love your help in putting together a list of speakers for our Area. Our groups are always looking for speakers to come in and speak about discipline, postpartum depression, home organization, meal planning, and so much more! If you know of some amazing speakers, please send your coach information or post on our Area 20 Facebook page. We would love to be able to share resources to all groups in our communities!

Encourage moms and churches in your community to provide support for teen moms by exploring the start of a Teen MOPS groups.

Specialty group updates
MOPS International has some added benefits this year for our friends in MOMSnext! An email has gone out to moms registered in MOMSnext groups telling them about the MOMSnext Manifesto and their eBook, designed just for moms with school-aged kids. The manifesto and eBooks are benefits of membership, so please do not share them with leaders of other group types. The pages with the downloads are protected and can only be seen by women registered in these specific groups.
As kids get older, the needs of mom (and her kiddos!) change. That’s why this year, we’ve created FUN/THINK/TALK/DO cards just for our MOMSnext Leaders to use as a guide for meeting planning. Each card has everything a Leader might need in order to plan a fun, productive and meaningful meeting. All of these cards can be downloaded at www.mops.org/leader/meetings-for-momsnext.
