Area 20 November Monthly
Update
As we approach the busy part
of the year with all the holidays, I just want to slow down time. Not only is this time of year drowned with
Holidays, but almost every immediate-to-extended family members birthdays are
between October and February as well. I
really feel like there’s not enough time in the day to accomplish
anything.
And this is the time of year
that I really start to feel like my quiet time is put by the wayside. In reality, this is the time of the year I
need to step aside and take time for Jesus and his word everyday so that I don’t get completely wrapped up in the craziness
of all the festivities. It’s the time of
year that we need to slow down and remember whom, what and why we are
thankful. It’s the time of year to
remember that God has a plan, even if it’s not in our timing; to remember that
he already knows our path before we even get there and that he will guide and
carry us through the good and the bad times.
Tony Evans states -- “God
says to give thanks in everything. That doesn’t mean you need to give thanks
FOR everything. You don’t need to give thanks FOR that bad day. Or FOR that bad
relationship. Or being passed over at work. Financial hardship. Whatever it is
– you are not to give thanks FOR the difficulties, but rather IN the
difficulties. That is a very important distinction, and one I think we often
miss. Giving thanks IN everything shows a heart of faith that God is bigger than the difficulties
and that He can use them, if you approach Him with the right heart and spirit,
for your good and His glory.”
I hope that through these upcoming months that you slow
down a little and don’t forget why we celebrate these Holidays and give thanks
for everything in life.

Through personal experience and the practical application of Scripture, Ginger encourages and equips moms to reach past the outward behavior of their children and dive deeply into the issues of the heart. Ginger's candid approach will help moms move beyond the frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and into a confident and well-balanced approach to raising their children.
There is no cost to attend but a love offering will be taken up at the event. To register for the event, click this link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1920524458195376/

MOPS Area 20 Leaders Facebook Page
Did you know we have a
MOPS Area 20 Leaders Facebook page?
This page is open to
all registered Area 20 MOPS Leaders. MOPS International encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential
as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership
with the local church. Area 20 MOPS Leaders Facebook page is a place to ask
questions about MOPS International events, get ideas for meetings and encourage
one another. Your MOPS Volunteer Team Coaches check the page daily. We have been
posting a Prayer & Praise request each Tuesday. If you ever have a prayer
request, you may share it in that post. Our Coaches will pray specifically for
your requests.
We are also facilitating group discussions for
a week each month. In October Connect, we asked leaders’ questions to prompt
discussion. For November, we are going to focus on our Free, Indeed theme’s
three tenets of freedoms: Let Love Be the Loudest Voice (Proclaim Favor), Be
Gutsy (Proclaim Release) & Go First (Set Free). Be sure to comment on the
posts and your name will be entered for a random drawing. Join your Area 20
leaders and find & share ideas. You can join our page https://www.facebook.com/groups/Area20MOPS/
Area
20 Needs YOU!
MOPS Coaches are the vibrant tribe of women making an
authentic difference in the lives of MOPS moms and leaders. Our Coaches are a
passionate bunch. They’re the relationship builders and the team strengtheners.
The mom enthusiasts and the leader advocates. They’re the avid listeners and
expert encouragers, the community cultivators and world influencers.
MOPS Coaches are difference makers.
Every MOPS Coach has one simple task in common: Showing up.
Showing up takes many forms and everyone’s experience will
be unique. As a MOPS Coach you will
·
Directly impact local groups by
building relationships with group Leaders and guiding the group experience
·
Nurture Leaders by sharing training,
advice, resources and prayer – playing a large role in helping Leaders grow to
their full potential
·
Connect group Leaders to each other
and to MOPS International – share with local groups all the exciting things
happening with MOPS and cultivate friendships among fellow Leaders
·
Help MOPS develop resources for
Leader events and training – after all, being on the frontline makes you most
aware of Leaders’ needs
·
Grow professionally as leaders and
personally as women of influence. We want nothing more than for our Coaches to
thrive.
We believe you are meant to be here. We believe that
sometimes, the best opportunities require a leap of faith, a step into the
unknown, and a reliance on the women around you – the women who are welcoming
you with open arms into the sisterhood of MOPS Coaches.
Your Coaches pray daily for our MOPS groups &
you, our Leaders. We also pray that those who are called to join us will answer
that call. If you are ready to take the next step in leadership, please contact
your Coach or send our Area Coach, Christy Molnar, christymolnar@yahoo.com an email today.

M | Collectives & M | Meetups
MOPS
International is launching two new meeting formats! Just like the classic MOPS
groups, both of these gatherings welcome every mom, invite them into lifelong
friendships and talk about the things that matter most. Learn more
at mops.org/start-a-group.
M | Collectives
Collectives are short, topic-based gatherings. Collectives typically meet once a week for six to eight sessions to work through a small-but-mighty workbook that focuses on growth and discovery within a single topic. Topics could include postpartum depression, marriage and intimacy, raising boys and girls, healthy sleep habits and others, with new topics added continually. Each mom will simply need her own workbook to work through each week.

Meetups coming in 2018!
Meetups are ongoing, once-a-month gatherings centered on the shared wisdom and conversation of the women next to you. We have learned that with a little guidance, a casual monthly Meetup can create some of the most life-giving moments; the kind that breathe life into your year. Each month, both the Facilitator and each Member will receive monthly musings – digital content to help guide the conversation and set the stage for an extraordinary Meetup experience. The best part about Meetups is that they only require that you show up. Each mom will simply need her membership for access to these resources.

MOPS and Chuck E. Cheese
MOPS and Chuck
E. Cheese’s are collaborating to create something new. Chuck E. Cheese’s
locations across the nation are opening their doors to MOPS groups in fresh and
innovative ways to connect with new moms. We’re talking no hassle play dates
with entertainment and food (check out their healthy, gluten-free meal
options), outreach events that connect you with moms who are in your
neighborhood but are outside of the church, and even the option for an ongoing
MOPS group that meets without the challenge of having to secure child care.
Chuck E. Cheese’s isn’t just for kids anymore; it’s for MOPS moms, too.
Because, together, we are not only inviting moms into our community, we are
showing up in theirs.
Compassion
MOPS is
partnering with Compassion to raise the world together and bring hope to moms
in need! This year, MOPS moms are speaking up for impoverished moms and babies
in Honduras. You can give these moms and babies life-saving care through their
local church. Join in and you will be entered to WIN A TRIP to Honduras with
MOPS and Compassion to meet the moms and babies you’re helping!

Prayers and Praises
Leaders,
if you have a prayer or praise that you would like us to share with Area 20
Leaders, please send to your Coach or post on our Facebook page.
Pray for Rachel and her family at this time. Her husband started a new job just before her surgery and he is balancing job and kids and care. At this time the family is not receptive to any help we have offered (food, child care, transportation). We don’t want to burden them in our attempts to help. My heart hurts for them as I can only imagine the stress they are under. I only wish to lighten their load.
10/10 - Lori LaFargue Ward - Praise, after two miscarriages and a few complications throughout pregnancy, I gave birth to a beautiful & healthy baby girl on oct 3rd!
10/10 - Wendy Ilderton - Pray for Gods hand to be seen in what His will is for Luke's schooling. We are struggling with keeping him where he is, homeschooling, or private school. Luke has Aspergers and is having some issues come up this year. We are not sure that the schools solution is what's best for Luke.
10/12 - Andrea Harris - I had an emergency appendectomy this past Saturday.
10/12 - Amanda Storie - Unity for our steering team
10/14 - Katie Bennett Reagin - My cousin gave birth to a baby this week that they knew would not live long due to some major issues with her internal organs. She lived three days and passed away last night in her mommy's arms at home.
10/15 - Meghan Jorgensen - Friday I had the privilege to speak to a mops group in Michigan, sharing our story of losing our twins two years ago. One woman pulled me aside afterwards and tearfully told me that she had an ultrasound on Thursday showing twins that were not viable (she's 10 weeks). My heart aches for her.
Pray for our Area 20 MOPS Volunteer Team (MVT) as we strive
to encourage and equip the leaders in our communities and hope that more MOPS
Leaders will answer God’s call to be a part of our team.
